You know Sea moss is the truth when Forbes says it is.

Well, we know sea moss is real when Forbes Health writes a piece on the benefits sea moss has to offer. According to the USDA, 2 tablespoons of sea moss has 5 calories, 14.4 milligrams of Magnesium, 15.7 milligrams of Phosphorus, to say the least. These minerals are both responsible for regulating many of the body’s functions, like providing healthy blood cells, supporting the immune system, supporting organ function and so much more.

Sea moss is a great provider of iodine due to it being seaweed. Although iodized salt being the form for most on a Western diet, seamoss can ensure the correct amounts of iodine are being absorbed by the body. Iodine has to be consumed in the diet since it is not made in the body.  Iodine is particularly important for pregnant and lactating people, this makes sea moss a great need for individuals in these categories.

Sea moss is a prebiotic, meaning it’s resistant to digestion meaning it is instead a food source for probiotics (our lovely yogurt, kombuchas, kimchi, apple cider vinegar, anything pickled, sourdough bread etc). When there is a healthy amount of good bacteria in the gut, this helps mitigate certain ailments like IBS (inflammatory bowel disease), high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cancer, etc.

Sea moss is a great collagen source making it a great facemask option. Just add a little bit of water to a spoon full of gel and apply directly to your face. Once the gel is applied it will dry up letting you know your lovely pores have soaked in all those nutrients, yes boo! Love to hear it.
