Ego and Love Cannot Coexist.
Ego and love cannot coexist. It’s like anger and love, two very opposing yet strong emotions. You cannot have love where there is anger. This doesn’t mean you won’t get angry but emotional intelligence is a thing. A thing we should all learn about and apply to our lives.
Love is understanding and compassionate. Ego is unhealthy self-centeredness. Ego doesn’t seek to understand or empathize. Ego doesn’t care to hear what the other person has to say or understand how they feel. Love is a choice and so is ego. You choose to be loving or egotistical. You choose to root everything you do from a place of love or egoism. You are the dictator, take the responsibility off of everyone else, and take control of your life.
I had to learn this the hard way and I don’t want you too. Learn to speak from a place of love and understanding. I have always been very empathetic but egotistical mannerisms were something I once had. Not cute and glory be to God, He is releasing me from the shackles of my way or the highway.
When you want to achieve self-alchemy you must begin with self-love. Self-love begins with understanding no one owes you anything, and you owe it all to yourself to live and act in accordance with compassion and joy. Again, where there is self-love their cannot be ego. Ego removes the responsibility you have as a human being to be loving, caring, compassionate, understanding, and kind.
Sometimes we don’t notice we are being egotistical, it’s the point where we become fully self-centered and have an unhealthy relationship with always choosing self. Self should always be chosen, don’t get me wrong, but we must develop the mindset of caring and loving one another. This means sometimes being loud and wrong, keeping quiet, and letting the other person win.
A true and just person understands they may not always have the answers or be right, but who are we really, if we can never learn from anyone else? Now that is a gem.
Let this be your reminder to begin with the end in mind, how will this conversation end if I begin from a place of love.
