Pomodoro Me Down.

Let’s talk about the Pomodoro technique and how it’s a great way to get SH*T done!

It makes you focus. Focus focus focus. That is our word for 2024. With Pomodoro you just set a timer for 25 minutes and in those 25 minutes, you hustle. Make your to-do list beforehand so you know exactly what you have to do. For example, mine would look like email this and this person, edit video (be more specific, edit reel for IG and add on screen wording and set the sound/music choice etc) or publish video, email brand x,y,z. Try to get specific so you don’t really have questions and run into brain farts, well those are inevitable, but you get my point.

Set yourself for success. Plan so you don’t have to overcompensate later on in other areas. Make your life simple by doing things in advance or preparing for the “inevitable” as best as you can. We know life will always life, but we can control the controllables and do the things we know will propel us forward.

So back to pomodoro, once your 25 minutes are up, now set your 5 minute timer to do something that activates your brain's diffuse mode. Diffuse mode allows your brain to kind of do behind the scenes work, like set up a solution for a problem and just think more about the knowledge you just consumed.

Diffuse mode is essential for your brain to make necessary solutions to problems and make new connections in your brain. Resting is just as important as hustling. When you rest you see things, you would overlook if you hustle constantly. Allow your brain to rest and reactivate accordingly.

Just set this up and see how it works for you. Suggestions are beautiful because they allow you to see things and try different things. You really don’t know if it’s for you if you don’t try it. Assumptions are the worst way to get through life, in my opinion. It’s great to make things as factual as possible, so you never have to wonder.

Lastly, I think what I like most about the Pomodoro method is that it helps limit distractions by holding yourself accountable in those 25 minutes. Sometimes I go more depending on the flow of work I am doing. Like writing, I’ll go for hours, just kidding, but it can happen and should. A goal of mine is to write more and release more creative juices so I am being patient with myself as I accomplish this.

I pray this allows you to grow or just choose more in life. Your world is yours. You create what you want. You can do what you want. Put God first and watch.

Happy New Year family!
